Crowd lifts Mini Cooper out of road after driver parks on tram route

The moment frustrated passengers were forced to lift and move a Mini Cooper off the road after a driver parked the car across tram tracks was captured by a passer-by.

Two trams were blocked by the red car for 15 minutes after the driver illegally parked on double-yellow lines in Nottingham on Thursday morning.

According to Yahoo!, the disgruntled passengers decided to exit the trams and collectively pick up and move the car out of their way.

When she eventually returned from a nearby coffee shop, the woman was handed a penalty ticket by a waiting Nottingham Community Protection Officer.

The woman performed a U-turn in the road before driving off.

Nottingham Trent University student Billy Taylor, 20, from London, captured the moment the passengers moved the car.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said: "The car was parked half on the pavement and half on the tram lines, and the tram was unable to get past.

"There was a long stand-off. The tram was beeping its horn and no-one came to get the car.

"It was about 11am and we waited for about 20 minutes before people got fed-up and started to move it.

"She seemed quite calm and collected considering the dozens of people that were outside and the fact she was holding up this big tram."

Earlier this week, a large group of Good Samaritans rescued a woman trapped under a car by lifting it.

The woman was knocked off of the bike she was riding with her husband in Zhejiang Province, China

The motorcycle was seen sticking out from under the back of the car where the lady was trapped too.

A host of people rushed in seemingly from nowhere and grouped together to lift the car off the injured woman.

She was put in an ambulance and taken to hospital.
