Manchester flight to Munich diverted over 'unusual odour' in cockpit
A Lufthansa flight carrying 82 passengers from Manchester to Munich made an emergency diversion to Stuttgart - after the pilot smelled an 'unusual odour' in the cockpit.
The airline said the flight diverted because of "technical reasons", and confirmed the pilot had noticed a strange smell.
According to the Manchester Evening News, a spokesman for Stuttgart Airport said that the passengers had all deboarded from the Lufthansa flight by 9.30am on Thursday and would either take another plane to Munich or travel by bus.
The Daily Mail reports that the flight was met by ambulances and fire trucks when it landed safely at Stuttgart.
Passengers took to social media to share pics of the experience.

Meanwhile, at the beginning of November, a Virgin Australia plane had to turn back to the airport after liquid from the bathroom leaked into the aisles creating an "unbearable" smell.
The flight bound for Sydney was forced to turn back to Los Angeles after sinks on board leaked.
Julia Malley, a resident of Christchurch, where the plane was headed after Sydney, said the smell was "unbearable" in an interview with New Zealand radio, suggesting there was human poo flowing into the cabin.
However, Virgin has denied there was leakage from the toilets onboard.
