A human head and leg were found inside the stomach of a tiger shark caught by a group of fishermen in the Philippines last week.
The Surigao fishermen discovered the body parts when they cut open the shark.
They caught the huge shark in the waters between Bohol and Camiguin islands using only a hook and line, reports Inquisitr.
Bodoy Gorgod, one of the five fishermen who caught the giant tiger shark, said they were so horrified when they found the human head that they discarded their rare catch.
"It was so disgusting. We can't bear the awful smell," the 48-year-old said.
"We feared that the human remains may bring bad luck to us, so we opted to drop to the sea the shark's body and what's inside its belly."
The fishermen kept the fins and the jaw as a trophy of their catch.
However, one of the fishermen's wives wants these to be thrown away as well as she fears the soul of the shark's victim will haunt them, reports GMA News.
Unfortunately, the victim of the tiger shark remains a mystery. Locals believe it may be one of the missing passengers from the M/V Maharlika 2 ferry, which sank off of Leyte in September.
