Bruce Willis snaps up £5.5m New York country house
Bruce Willis has found a new home for his young family, splashing out a reported $9 million on the Bedford, New York house.
The 59-year-old Die Hard actor - who recently had his second child with wife Emma Heming - had been house hunting in the area for some months. The family will have plenty of celebrity company - Martha Stewart, Ben Stiller, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas, amongst many others, all live in the area.
The shingle-style country house comes with 14 acres and sits on one of Beford's highest points, giving 180-degree views across the Croton Reservoir. Extending to 8,000 square feet, it has five bedrooms and six bathrooms, with large, open-plan reception areas.

Outside there are mature gardens, a large heated swimming pool and heated cabana, as well as a synthetic tennis court and four-car garage. Along with the main property, Willis also bought an extra eight acres of land with an old house and two renovated guest cottages, believed to have cost around another $2 million.

Married in 2009, the couple recently had their second daughter, Evelyn, and also have a two-year-old, Mabel. They've since been making big changes to their living arrangements, recently putting their Sun Valley ski home and a Beverly Hills estate on the market. The Beverly Hills house took some time - and a hefty price cut - to sell, dropping from $22 million to $16.5 million.
The family has since been living in a luxury apartment in Central Park West in New York City, bought from U2 bassist Adam Clayton for $8.7 million.
While married to actress Demi Moore, Willis spent a lot of time at their six-bedroom, 8,400-square-foot lakefront ranch in Hailey, Idaho - bought for a reported $15 million two years ago, but now up for sale for $8.8 million. With the new purchase, just an hour's drive from central New York, Willis appears to have firmly settled back on the East Coast.
