Video: Ferrari F60 America unveiled on Rodeo Drive
Ferrari's latest creation – the F60 America roadster – has been captured on film by serial supercar spotter Schmee, who has had a good nose around this new open-top model, designed – unsurprisingly – for the American market, to celebrate the Italian supercar maker's 60th anniversary in the USA.
Just 10 F60s are to be created – and in true Ferrari style all of these have been spoken for already. Helping to get those buyers to sign on the dotted line, this F12 Berlinetta-derived supercar boasts a potent 730bhp V12 engine mated to a quick-fire seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, which helps to rocket this car to 62mph in a barnet-bashing 3.1 seconds.
Making its debut in Los Angeles' Beverly Hills, this exclusive two-seater has a completely redesigned body and is a true roadster – there are no folding hard tops, or even a flimsy fabric tarpaulin to keep you dry should the heavens open, which seems a little stingy considering the reputed $2.5million (£1.55million) price tag.
Helping to pander to the American market this machine carries strong references to the 1967 275 GTS-4 NART, which was also designed specifically for US buyers. The 21st century model also gets a unique interior – with a red driver's seat and red carbon fibre trim. Hopefully this is one Ferrari feature that will stay on the other side of the Atlantic.
