George Clooney buys Oxfordshire mansion for Amal Alamuddin

After a waterside wedding in Venice, George Clooney has bought Amal Alamuddin their first home by the River Thames in Oxfordshire.

The Hollywood actor and his new wife are reportedly enjoying their honeymoon at the beautiful mansion, which George has purchased for the couple to start their married life.

According to The Mail on Sunday, the multi-million pound riverside home features a state of the art spa and a cinema room.

Described as palatial, the mansion is in a "dream location" for lawyer Amal, who was torn between Oxfordshire and Kent.

The newlyweds are reportedly staying at the property until next weekend.

George and Amal's nuptials in Venice cost a whopping £8 million.

More than 100 guests, including big stars like Matt Damon and Cindy Crawford, joined the couple as they tied the knot on the Grand Canal during a four-day extravaganza in September.

Amal made her first appearance as 'Mrs Clooney' in a Giambattista Valli floral gown, before the couple made their union official with a short ceremony at Venice City Hall.

It's thought the cost of the wedding included Amal's stunning lace Oscar de la Renta gown, featured on Hello! and People magazines.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the wedding pricetag also included the hire of water taxis to take guests to and from various venues; the rooms in which they stayed at the five-star Hotel Cipriani, and the reception at the Aman Hotel.
