Bear's lesson in how to scratch that itch (funny video)
There's no need to invest in a telescopic back scratcher as a black bear in America has taught us exactly how to reach an itchy spot - by rubbing up against a scratchy tree trunk.
Filmed by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, the adorable bear was seen wildly wiggling against a tree trunk in Okanogan Country.
The bear was seen stamping its foot while shimmying up and down.
Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife spokeswoman Madonna Luers told Today.com that wildlife biologist Scott Fitkin set up the video camera that captured the moment.
"It reminds us that people love animals," she said, "and especially ones doing what looks like silly things."
Earlier this month, a cheeky black bear was filmed taking a dip in a family's swimming pool.
The reasonably large bear was caught cooling off in the California heatwave by homeowner Thomas See, who arrived back at his house in Sierra Madre to find the animal having a swim.
According to the Mirror, the bear was in the pool for about 15 minutes before leaving.
A woman in the background was heard exclaiming: "This is unreal. Oh my God, how awesome is that!"
The LA Times reported that the bear was hardly to blame for wanting to cool off as temperatures hit 39C that week.
The black bear population in southern California has been on the rise, and there are now reportedly around 30,000 in the state.
