Photographer Paul Ker snapped a photo of every plane landing at New York's LaGuardia Airport in one hour to create a fascinating image that displays the volume of air traffic at one of the city's airport.

Ker, from New York, photographed the passenger jets from his home in Woodside, Queens.

The composite photo features nearly 40 passenger jets, amounting to one landing every 90 seconds.

Mr Ker told Gothamist: 'It gets quite loud when we're out on our terrace, but not nearly as loud as when they take off in this direction. That gets really bad."

According to the Daily Mail, LaGuardia is the third busiest of the New York area's three major airports in terms of passenger traffic.

More than 23 million travellers passed through the airport in 2013.
