Heatwave! Britain braced for a warmer than average month ahead
Britain is set for for an Indian summer as forecasters predict an October heatwave.
Next month will be warmer than usual and temperatures could even reach 25C, with a high-pressure ridge forcing warmer air up from the Atlantic, reports the Mirror.
This is a welcome surprise after temperatures plummeted to low single figures over the weekend.
Britain has experienced above average temperatures already this September, and this month is on track to be the joint fourth hottest since records began in 1910 and the hottest since 2006, reports the Metro.
The Met Office predicts dry and fine weather for most this week with rain in the far northwest.
