A hot air balloon advertising Wonderbra has hit a house and crash-landed in a street in Guildford, Surrey.

The balloon had reportedly been struggling to stay airborne and had come down in Elder Close in Guildford a around 6.30pm on Tuesday.

Resident Tim Howarth told the Mirror he heard the balloon and went to have a look.

"I ran upstairs to the velux window to see this hot air balloon coming over the trees quite low," he said.

"It just about cleared them and then it looked like it was going to manage to stay up and then it started dropping down again."

According to Get Surrey, the balloon narrowly avoided a number of roofs before clipping one and then catching the back of a car as it landed.

He added: "It looked like there was an elderly couple with the guy that was controlling it.

"Everyone made sure the basket was upright and helped them out.

"Ten minutes later, there was a trailer there to collect it."
