Driver disqualified after driving GP2 car like he stole it
We've all been there. You're in a hurry, you make some silly overtakes you shouldn't have done and cut up a few other drivers a little bit. Thankfully, most of the time you get away with it without incident – and your antics don't get filmed from 20 different angles.
That wasn't the case, however, for brazen GP2 driver Sergio Canamasas who treated the Italian GP2 sprint race more like Grand Theft Auto.
In his, er, overenthusiasm to get to the front of the race he careered across the gravel traps on the Ascari Chicane – on lap one no less – making up a place in the process and bashing into one of the better-behaved drivers when rejoining the track.
Not content with this havoc, the Spanish driver caused several subsequent crashes before being politely asked to leave the track, as marshals fished out the black flags. It's not as if Canamasas is unfamiliar with being banned, receiving a black flag in Singapore in 2012, reports Car Throttle.
