Terrifying moment hammerhead shark circles close to swimmers
The moment a pair of swimmers paddled in shallow water just feet away from a hammerhead shark at a beach in Florida was caught on camera.
In the video, the shark is seen approaching the two unsuspecting swimmers as those filming shout at them to get out of the water.
The footage was filmed from a penthouse at the Silver Beach Towers resort in Destin, New York Daily News reports.
After several warnings, the men realise the shark is just metres away from them and start to run out of the water.
One of the men filming the scene is heard saying, "yeah, now run" after the pair finally leave the water.
Luckily, the hammerhead shark was hunting stingray and soon disappeared with its meal.
Inquisitr reports that there has been a rise in shark attacks in some parts of Florida, with most attacks occurring in Volusia, Brevard and Palm Beach counties.
Hammerhead sharks are apex predators and use their oddly-shaped head to find prey. They have wide-set eyes to give them better visual range than most other sharks. The great hammerhead can grow up to 20 feet in length.
