Search continues for boy, 12, swept out to sea in Anglesey

The 12-year-old boy who was swept out to sea in Anglesey on Friday has been named.

Isaac Nash, from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, was on holiday at Aberffraw in North Wales when he went missing at lunchtime on Friday.

According to the Daily Mail, Isaac was paddling in shallow water with another young boy when a large wave hit them.

The other boy's father managed to rescue his son, while Isaac's grandfather grabbed Isaac but after the pair were struck by a giant wave, he lost grip of his grandson.

After Isaac was dragged out to sea, a major search operation was launched and involved police divers, coastguards and a helicopter.

The BBC reports that Isaac's family are helping rescue services check the shoreline, while three lifeboat crews are searching the area.

A police spokesperson said: "Three lifeboats were launched this morning and continue to search the area whilst being supported by the police helicopter.

"Officers have been patrolling the shoreline, along with family members and local volunteers wishing to help.

"Further specialist support from the police underwater search team will provide assistance during this afternoon."

Isaac was on a camping holiday with his parents and grandparents when he went missing.

The Daily Telegraph reports that conditions were described as "horrendous" with rough seas and poor visibility.

Ann Griffith, a local Plaid Cymr councillor, joined the search on Saturday and said: "It was very, very rough. It was like a winter storm - very nasty conditions. The lifeboats were bobbing up and down in a big sea."
