What does the British seaside mean to you? Whatever feelings it stirs, you can't deny that our traditional coastal towns are a big part of what makes Britain British. They're the places where childhood memories are made and senses are heightened: salty fish and chips wrapped in newspaper; drizzly days huddled in a beach hut playing endless games of cards; colourful illuminations on the seafront; strolls along the pier; endless arcades, sweet sticks of rock and silly kiss-me-quick-hats; the bitter cold sea that bites at your ankles when you dare to take a dip: the British seaside means something to everyone.
