A young boy received the ultimate surprise from his father when he was told that he would be joining him on his 'business' trip to Egypt.

Gary May hugged his tearful son Ethan goodbye at Gatwick Airport before announcing that the whole family were going on a holiday to the Red Sea.

The 41-year-old, from Hampshire, planned the prank and his wife Claire filmed it on her phone.

In the video, Gary is heard asking his son why he doesn't join him on the business trip, to which Ethan replies that he does not have his passport.

Gary then opens his car boot to reveal his wife and Ethan's suitcases.

Ethan hugs his dad and says: "Thank you - I love you! You're the best dad ever."

According to the Daily Mail, the family travelled to Sharm el-Sheikh for a family holiday with Monarch Airlines and stayed at Sentido Reef Oasis Senses Resort.

Speaking to the newspaper, Gary said it was planned at the last-minute after his client rescheduled a meeting for the business trip.

"We decided, with great difficulty, to keep it from Ethan.

"We had to tell him all his clothes were being washed for some unknown reason, and he kept having a go at Claire asking her "why are all my clothes in the washing?"

A Monarch Airlines spokesperson told the Evening Standard: "We are thrilled to have been part of such as special family moment – Ethan is a lovely boy who charmed all the cabin crew on board with his excitement at his very unexpected holiday."
