Footballers' favourite cars revealed

Land Rover Range Rover

The luxurious Range Rover is the car most favoured by premiership footballers, according to new data from Oracle Finance.
Often used by motorists looking to broker a deal on a premium set of wheels, Oracle scoured its records ahead of the start of the new Premiership season to identify the top 10 models that Britain's footballers just have to be seen in.

Oracle Finance managing director Peter Brook said: "We looked back at our records over the last five years to come up with this list and weren't surprised the Range Rover was top.

"We can't reveal which footballers use our services because of client confidentiality, but we work with some of the biggest names in the footballing world and have helped hundreds of players, managers and agents fund their dream cars over the years."

Proving almost as popular as the Range Rover was Bentley's Continental GT – a vehicle that has become synonymous with footballers since its launch in 2003. Closely following it in the top-10 ranking was another Land Rover, in the form of the hugely popular Range Rover Sport.

In fact, premium and performance SUVs dominated the ranking, with the Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne and BMW X5 all making an appearance.

However, not all footballers seem to have a hankering for Chelsea tractors, with many opting for two-seat sports car such as the Ferrari 458 Italia and Lamborghini Gallardo.

Mr Brook added: "What's clear from our list is that SUVs are very popular. Our football clients like their cars to be luxurious with high-up driving positions, which is why they prefer 4x4s to out-and-out supercars. Few cars offer all that like a full-fat Range Rover."
