Bill Gates takes family on £200m superyacht holiday in Sardinia
What do you do for your family holiday when you're the world's richest man with a fortune of nearly $80 billion (approx £50bn)? Well, if you're Bill Gates, you whisk everybody off to a $330 million (£200m) yacht off the coast of Sardinia.
Bill, his wife Melinda, and their three children, Rory, Jennifer and Phoebe, have been spotted on the super yacht moored off ultra-luxe Porto Cervo.
The Microsoft founder rented The Serene for a week at a cost of $5 million. The 436ft yacht is owned by Stolichnaya vodka magnate, Yuri Scheffler, and can host 24 guests in 12 staterooms, as well as up to 53 members of staff.
There's also a seawater swimming pool, a cinema, two helicopter pads, a submarine hanger, an underwater viewing room, and two Jacuzzis.
What's more, according to the Daily Mail, it has a cruising speed of 15 knots and is able to travel 6,000 nautical miles on a full tank - almost the distance from London to New York and back again.
The family have been spotted making the most of the facilities, with Bill jumping on a helicopter to hop over to the mainland for a spot of tennis, before being flown back to the luxury yacht.
They were also seen choosing from a huge rack of wetsuits before getting into the water for a spot of jet skiing, reports TMZ.
Porto Cervo is a playground for the rich, famous, and out-of-this-world wealthy.
Princess Diana used to frequent its shores, while former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi has spent a lot of time there.
