According to the Mirror, Sebastien King, 18, son of the island's leading pathologist Dr Stephen King, was questioned in relation to the incident, which occurred at 1.35am on Sunday, before being released.

The Daily Mail reports that Quinton had been eating and drinking with fellow crew members at the Royal St Lucia resort before the accident.

A Virgin Atlantic spokeswoman told the BBC: "This is a very difficult time for the crew member's family and our heartfelt condolences go out to all who knew him.

"Quinton will be missed by all his friends and colleagues at Virgin Atlantic who are deeply saddened by this news."
