There's an element of competition this week, as three of the freebies need to be won. Fortunately, although one requires a modicum of skill, one offers a prize every time, and the third simply requires you to hunt the shelves at Boots - something that's second nature to dedicated bargain-hunters.

Free beach safety pack
If you're heading to the beach this summer, you can get a free safety pack from RNLI - and entertain the kids for a few minutes before you go too. The RNLI has a beach smart game which teaches kids about things like beach flags and the importance of buddying up when going swimming.

Once they've completed the games, they can request a free RNLI Beach Smart pack, which includes a Beach Smart activity booklet, a waterproof pen, and a snapband bracelet - which doubles up as an identity bracelet if you're worried about the kids wandering off on the beach.

All this is free, but bear in mind that RNLI is a charity, so a donation would be much appreciated.

Free Diet Coke
Boots is running a special freebie on 500ml bottles of Diet Coke. If you're passing a branch, pop in and check for bottles featuring the word 'hunk' where the other bottles have a variety of names. If you find one you can take it to the till and you'll get it for free. It's usually £1.37, so it's quite a saving in return for a bit of rummaging on the shelf.

There are 24,000 of them on the shelves and the promotion has only just started, so you should be in with a decent chance of finding one.

YSL cosmetics
If you go to a YSL counter in any department store (you can track them down here), you can ask to be 'shade matched' by one of the staff members and request your free 5ml Fusion foundation or trial sized concealer - Le Teint Touche Éclat. If you were able to buy this size of product at the counter they'd be worth at least £4, so there's no harm in asking.

Free Hoegaarden glass
If you're speedy with the mouse, you can win a free Hoegaarden glass by playing a quick game. The game requires you to click around a box as quickly as possible in order to try to find a glass. If you find it within 10 seconds and click on it, they'll send you a glass for free.

If you miss out on the first go you can follow them on Twitter, tweet the game or share it on Facebook, to get up to three more goes.

Free starter or dessert
Harvester is offering a free breaded mushroom or crackerjack prawn starter - or a Sunday Best dessert - with every main meal when you register on the website. You can show your voucher on your phone, or print it off and show it to staff when you order. It's valid for everyone on your table when you use it - and you can use it up to six times any day until 1 October (excluding the Bank Holiday).
