Guests using the toilet at a new hotel restaurant in Berlin can be seen through the window by passersby below - who are even taking pictures of the scene.

The design flaw has only just been spotted at the Monkey Bar restaurant in the new 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin.

Guests sit at floor-to-ceiling windows to relieve themselves, apparently in full view of strangers below, despite the building being only 10 storeys high, reports the Mirror.

The hotel has great views over the Berlin Zoo.

According to the Metro, the hotel has now put up a warning sign that reads: "Please be careful, not only the monkeys are watching."

But, strangely, it's not the only hotel in the world where the loos are on show to strangers.

The loos on the 18th floor at the luxury Standard Hotel's Boom Boom Room club in New York are visible to people on the street, thanks to their 10ft floor-to-ceiling windows.

Bare bottoms are being flashed to members of the public, who have been taking pictures of the unpleasant scene.

Tourist David Langdon, 55, from Melbourne, Australia told the New York Daily News: "The view outside is exciting, but the view inside is frightening.

"I saw people waving at me! Sitting on the royal throne, you don't expect a public viewing."
