A former Chelsea youth player has died while on holiday with his girlfriend in Turkey.

It is believed Jordan Tabor, 23, fell from a third-floor balcony in Lara Beach, south west of Antalya, on Wednesday.

He was found dead by workers at the Titanic Hotel at 6am.

His mother Louise Bates, who lives in Oxford, told the Standard: "He was amazing. He was my life and soul, there is nothing more to say. We just need time to grieve."

According to the Mirror, a Chelsea FC spokesman said: "Everyone at Chelsea was shocked and deeply saddened by the news of Jordan's passing. All of our thoughts are with his family and friends."

Tabor had been on holiday with his girlfriend Danielle McEachran, and her family and friends, who have paid tribute to him on social networking sites.

According to the Daily Mail, Coronation Street star Brooke Vincent, who recently dated his ex-Chelsea teammate Josh McEachran, tweeted: "Words Can't Describe Rest In Peace."

Co-star Anthony Cotton also wrote: "Jordan - Good night sweet prince, and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest..."

The Foreign Office said it was providing consular assistance to Tabor's family but did not comment on the circumstances of his death, reports the Independent.
