A British Airways passenger who allegedly threatened to kill flight attendants and blow up a plane faces up to two decades in jail.

Kevin Mosele, 20, from Hawaii, was arrested on Monday after landing in Los Angeles on a BA flight from London.

He was charged with interfering with a flight crew after FBI agents arrested him at LAX.

ABC News reports that Mosele told FBI agents he had several drinks during the nine-hour stopover in London before boarding the flight.

When he was approached about his behaviour during the flight, he allegedly told several flight attendants: "I am going to f****** kill you. I am going to open this door. I am going to set off a bomb."

The Independent reports that cabin crew found two small bottled of wine and two small whiskey bottles near his seat which he had not purchased on the flight.

The captain warned him about his behaviour and Mosele dared him to diver the flight.

Mosele allegedly mocked him, saying: "Ooo, El Capitan, can I pretend to be a stewardess?"

He was eventually handcuffed and restrained by four flight attendants but spat at them.

Mosele reportedly apologised to FBI agents and said: "It's all my fault. I'm mad at myself."

He was freed on $10,000 (£5,800) bail and ordered to return to court on 4 August.
