Lawrence (48) and Theresa (46) Poxton bought what is technically one of cheapest properties in the UK. The bus driver and his wife snapped up their terraced home for just £1 in a scheme run by Stoke-on-Trent Council to sell to people who promised to renovate run-down properties and breathe new life into the area. The couple were one of the lucky 33 families who got an incredible bargain, and after more than a year of hard work, they have finally moved in.

The experts say that the property is now worth £70,000.
