Toddler fighting for life after speaker falls on his head at holiday resort
A three-year-old boy from Kent was seriously injured when a music speaker fell on his head from the balcony of a hotel while he was playing at a resort on holiday in Turkey.
Stanley Burch suffered a fractured skull and bleeding to the brain after the accident at the Yasmin Resort in Bodrum.
According to the Daily Mail, he was rushed to hospital and spent 10 days in intensive care before he was allowed to fly home.
His father Mitchell Burch, 32, said: "We were just sitting on the sun loungers when the hotel's speaker fell off the balcony and onto my son's head.
"It was a huge speaker, at least a metre high. There was a massive cut on his head - it was horrendous."
Kent Online reports that the speaker was believed to be attached to a tripod when it fell 30ft from a balcony.
Mr Burch said: "Stanley has been amazing throughout this and he is a true fighter."
The family's solicitor Mark Gore said it was too early to know if Stanley had sustained permanent damage but added that the incident was being investigated.
