Woman, 67, dies on first night of Glastonbury 2014

Woman, 67, dies on opening night of Glastonbury 2014

A 67-year-old woman has died on the opening night of Glastonbury 2014.

According to the Metro, police said the woman died from natural causes in her tent overnight, and her death is not being treated as suspicious.

The news comes as it's also reported that a 25-year-old man is in a life-threatening condition after overdosing on the drug Ketamine at the festival.

The festival-goer is reportedly fighting for his life at the Bristol Royal Infirmary.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said they believe he had an adverse reaction to the drug, rather than being affected by a contaminated batch.

Around 90,000 people have flocked to the Glastonbury site for the annual bash, which is now its 44th year.

Festival-goers have been warned they'll get wed and muddy as heavy showers have hit, and more are expected.

The recent fine spell has broken and the predicted rain could turn the festival into a mud bath as thousands of revellers tread the site.

John Griffiths, a forecaster with Meteogroup, said: "If it was just a few showers the hard ground would make it drain off. But after three days worth of rain it will probably get quite muddy, I suspect."

Those travelling to the festival, set on the 1,200 acre Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somserset, are advised to take wellies and waterproofs and be prepared for the rain.

So far, crime is down 50% on last year. But, following the news of the Ketamin overdose, according to the Mirror, a policeman tweeted: Please don't take drugs at Glasto.

"Ketamine and alcohol dangerously affect your heart and breathing. It can be deadly and you don't know what or how strong it is."

Headline acts at this year's festival include Arcade Fire, Lily Allen, Blondie and the Kaiser Chiefs.
