First drive: 2014 Toyota Aygo

It's almost 10 years since the Toyota Aygo appeared on UK roads. The Japanese manufacturer's first city car, it was the result of a new joint venture forged with PSA Peugeot Citroen and was developed especially for European drivers. It's done well over the years, and has become Toyota's second best- selling model, after the Yaris (also due to be replaced during 2014). Toyota is keen to highlight new Aygo's 'playful' nature, based on the uber-cool youth culture of Japan; its clever tech and distinctive appearance.
