Eight-year-old fighting for his life after being hit by bus in Barnet

A boy was seriously injured after being hit by a bus while riding his bike in Barnet.

The eight-year-old suffered leg and head injuries and was taken to hospital, ITV News reports.

Police were called to Chesterfield Road when the boy was hit by a 184 bus.

His injuries were described as life threatening.

According to the Evening Standard, a police spokesman said: "The eight-year-old boy, who had been riding a bike, had suffered head and leg injuries and was taken by ambulance to hospital, where he remains. His injuries are currently described as life threatening."

This is Local London reports that the bus driver stopped at the scene and was not arrested.
