A grandmother from Kent has been given the honour of being named Britain's worst holiday photographer.

Jayne Boorman won the title after her daughter-in-law Sally submitted the image into an online Worst Holiday Photographer competition on her behalf.

Her blurry shot - focusing mainly on the ground - of her family posing with a character called Duffy the Disney Bear won everybody over.

Sally's son is called Duffy and his grandparents had paid for the dream trip to Florida to meet the bear at the end of last year.

Speaking to Kent Online, Sally said: "It's a running joke in the family that Jayne's a terrible photographer, but I wrongly thought this was an easy photo to take and surely she couldn't mess it up.

"How wrong I was. Thank goodness my husband took some photos too.

"Despite me swearing the children to secrecy, they did let slip to their grandma that we'd entered her photo and she was really pleased.

"Let's hope she can master the camera she's won. If not, we could be entering another one of her delights next year."

Cheapholidayland.com said: "It was a hard task picking the winner as there were so many to choose from but the one which was a firm favourite amongst us here was Sally Boorman from Kent.

"Her winning entry was that once in a lifetime opportunity for her son to meet a certain Disney character - Duffy Bear.

"Everyone was in place, including family members and the bear to get that all important memento of their trip to Disneyland.

"In charge of taking the shot with their camera was her mother-in-law, but...well as you can see from the resulting image it's not quite what they were hoping for :-)."

According to The Sun, Steve Barnes from CheapHolidayLand.com, added: "We loved the story behind it – the fact that they'd queued for ages in the Florida heat and humidity just to get this photo – and the mother-in-law messed it up.

"Let's hope the prize will help Jayne perfect her photography skills - if not I'm sure there'll be plenty of helpers on hand to try out the new camera."
