A man was horrified to discover kitchen trays being used to catch water from leaky urinals in a Bristol pub.
Jonathan Deady, 38, made the discovery when he went to the loo after a meal at the Toby Carvery.
He found four bain marie cooking trays lined up under urinals to catch the leaking water.
Jonathan, who was dining with his wife Angie, 39, and their 18-month-old daughter, Bethany, told the Metro: "Thankfully we had already finished eating our food when I made the discovery, otherwise we would have been out of there, even if we were only half way through the meal, and I certainly wouldn't have been paying.
"I don't understand why they wouldn't use some big yellow buckets, or just shut the toilets for that matter – there are other ones."
After Jonathan complained he was offered £80 compensation.
Speaking to the Western Daily Press, he said: "It's all very well trying to give me money for being the one to catch them out but what about the families eating there that know none the wiser?
"The urinals were literally overflowing and they had been put there to catch the water.
"It's absolutely disgusting. They have a five star hygiene rating, how are they getting away with behaviour like this?"
The restaurant apologised and said the trays were old and immediately thrown away after the incident.
According to the Daily Mail, a restaurant spokesperson said: "The toilets were out of use, as we had an issue with leaking pipes.
"We used old containers to catch the water and stop further damage to the floor. The containers were discarded immediately afterwards."
But Jonathan added: "I think it's safe to say I will never be eating there again. Me and my wife even had our wedding reception there but we won't be going back."
