A car crash in Russia has caused an explosion worthy of a Hollywood movie.

And, just like a scene from a film, all those involved managed to walk away unscathed.

Ksenya Houbanina, 24, was driving her Mitsubishi Outlander when she collided with a van at a junction. Witnesses were stunned at the huge fireball that erupted - and even more shocked that both drivers and their passengers walked away unharmed.

The accident happened in the early evening near Syktyvkar, a city in Russia's Komi Republic.

According to the Metro, onlooker Igor Krasnisky said: "It was a monster fireball, real Hollywood stunt stuff.

"I think the woman must have been drinking, misjudged the distance and slammed into the truck without even knowing it was there."

Ksenya and her passenger Tamara Rahounina, 26, got out of the car and walked away from the wreck unharmed.

The driver of the van, Igor Klikoun, 45, and his four passengers also walked away from the wreck, although some of them suffered bruises and light burns.

According to Orange News, police are investigating a claim that the Ksenya had been travelling at speed "for a dare" to see if she could get across the road without crashing, and had failed.

They are also awaiting toxicology reports to determine whether she had been drinking or taking drugs at the time of the crash.
