Prince Harry liked a Devon pub so much he jokingly offered to buy it - for £650,000.

Harry and 14 of his pals were on a stag do when they headed to the historic Maritime Inn in Brixham, Devon, for a drink on Friday night.

The group, who landlady Pat Seddon, 75, described as "well-behaved", played darts and drank ale.

Then somebody shouted out about how they liked the pub, and Harry quipped he could snap it up for £650k.

Pat told the Daily Mail: "Somebody from his group called out, "what a lovely pub," so I said 'you can have it if you want'.

"Then Prince Harry said, 'how much?' and I jokingly said 'six and a half hundred thousand' and he said, 'oh I've got that in my pocket'."

Pat, who has run the pub for the past 33 years, told the Western Morning News: "Prince Harry was wearing a cap and combat jacket. He was lovely.

"They stayed all evening and they were very well-behaved. One or two of the locals recognised them, but they left them alone.

"The regulars and the bodyguards stayed on the other side of the bar and gave them some space.

"A big white taxi van arrived at the end of the evening to take them all home. They did tell me they were on a stag weekend and introduced the groom."

According to Entertainment Wise, she added: "I made sure they weren't pestered. I didn't know they were turning up but I recognised Harry almost immediately. It was a surprise but if Prince Harry wants to come in my pub that's fine with me."

The pub's website reads: "The Maritime is situated overlooking the inner harbour about two minutes' walk from the main town.

The Maritime has a unique friendly atmosphere with the Landlady Pat, George the dog, and Mr Tibbs to the parrot to add to the pleasure.

"The interior of the pub is unique, untouched by modernisation, with plenty to look at from the ornaments hung on the ceilings to the local history documents and old photos on the walls."

It wasn't the only watering hole Prince Harry visited that weekend. On Sunday, he was also spotted sitting outside the Cricket Inn at Beesands.
