Corinthians players don yellow helmets in tribute to Senna
Today marks the 20th anniversary of the death of Ayrton Senna. The F1 legend was killed when his Williams car crashed at high speed into a concrete wall at the fearsome Imola circuit during the 1994 Italian Grand Prix.
His passing shook the world of motorsport and led to vastly improved driver safety.
In Brazil Senna is regarded as a national hero. His death was followed by an official period of mourning, and his funeral procession was lined with hundreds of thousands of fans.
Even today, two decades on, the world pays tribute to a man many regard as the greatest driver ever to get behind the wheel of an F1 car. Yesterday evening, the Corinthians football team, of Senna's hometown of Sao Paulo, paid their respects by donning helmets finished in his iconic yellow and green livery as they lined up before the game.
Greeted by rapturous applause from the crowd, Corinthians then went on to beat rivals Nacional 3-0 in the Copa do Brasil tournament.
