Rat caught tucking into bread roll at airport deli counter (video)

A video of a rat happily munching on a bread roll at an airport counter has been posted on Facebook.

According to the Mirror, customer Bharati Athwani, who posted the video, said it was filmed at Mumbai Airport in India.

The Daily Star reports that Bharati called the video a "must watch for all".

The news comes just weeks after it was reported enormous 'mutant' rats have made their way north from London and Birmingham to Liverpool.

The huge 'super rats' have been spotted across Merseyside, and are reportedly resistant to traditional poisonous bait.

Sean Whelan, of Whelan Pest Prevention, told the Liverpool Echo: "All around Merseyside there's been a problem.

"We're seeing bigger rats in Liverpool. They're super rats in my opinion."

The rodents are reportedly filling up on food left in bins near restaurants and houses.

Meanwhile, back on October 2010, health inspectors found 11 rats living under a seat in the business class cabin of a plane from Hong Kong to China.

The rats - a mother and her 10 pups - were found during a routine inspection, reports Business Insider, and no damage had been done to the plane.

The plane was being taken in for repair at southeast China's Xiamen Airport when workers from Xiamen Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau found the 10 baby rats under a seat of a business class cabin.

According to the Shanghai Daily, quarantine authorities said it was the most rats they had ever found on an inbound plane.
