Four tourists rescued after driving into sea while looking for pub

Four women had to be rescued after suffering a major Sat Nav fail that saw their car turn off a coastal road and plunge into the sea.

The four holidaymakers, all from London, had been trying to find a seaside village pub in Angle, near Pembroke in West Wales, from where they were staying in Milford Haven.

The Sat Nav told them to take a right, but they then travelled past a sign saying 'No Through Road' before they suddenly plunged into the sea.

St Govan's Coastguards were sent to rescue the women at around 9.30pm on Sunday 20 April, and a spokesperson told the Daily Mail: "The women followed the instructions of their Sat Nav and took a wrong turning.

"We had a call to say that a car had gone into the water, and luckily we located it and helped the women onto dry land."

According to the Western Telegraph, the group drove 400m down the no-through road before they realised their car was bonnet-deep in water.

After they were rescued by the Coastguard, the four uninjured women finally made it to their destination, the Old Point House pub, where they enjoyed a "ribbing from the locals" and "a stiff drink or two", said the landlady.

A breakdown firm later came to rescue the stranded car.
