Family-friendly hours under threat

An increasing number of employers are imposing significant changes in working hours without adequate consultation and with little consideration for family responsibilities, according to a new report.

Working Families said calls to its legal helpline in the past year showed "too many" working parents struggling to achieve more than a work-life compromise, and unlawful practice by unscrupulous employers ever more difficult to challenge.
