Facebook to turn off mobile chat feature

Facebook has announced that it's turning off the chat feature in its main mobile app, forcing users to use a separate app, Messenger, instead.

Users will no longer be able to send messages from within the main Facebook app, but instead will be prompted to download Messenger. The messaging button will still exist within the main Facebook app, but will then link to Messenger instead.
