A 15-year-old girl has died after collapsing at Thorpe Park holiday camp in Cleethorpes, northern Lincolnshire.

Alex Hardiment reportedly collapsed and suffered a cardiac arrest in the cafe bar.

Paramedics from the East Midlands Ambulance Service were called to the scene at around 4.30pm on Tuesday 8 April.

Alex was taken to Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

A spokesman told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: "It is tragic. There was no other reason for it than a medical incident."

Pam Buckingham, head teacher at Outwood Academy Brumby, paid tribute to Alex, telling the Grimsby Telegraph: "I can confirm she was a student at Outwood Academy Brumby and our thoughts are with her family and friends.

"It has been a complete shock."

A Humberside Police spokesman said her death is not being treated as suspicious.
