Banned driver caught speeding at 100mph with pregnant girlfriend and baby in car (video)

A joyrider had been jailed for 22 months after driving at more than 100mph during a police chase with his pregnant girlfriend and baby in the car.

Ashton Dellamonica, 21, was caught leading police on a dangerous 11-mile route along icy roads through Nottingham on Christmas Day, The Guardian reports.

The banned driver, from Nottingham, had his heavily pregnant girlfriend and a baby in the rear seats as he sped away from an unmarked police car in a stolen Audi.

Detective Constable Emma Pollard, of Radford Road CID, told the Nottingham Post: "It is clear that Dellamonica had little regard for the safety of his passengers or other road users that night. Officers involved said they had not seen such dangerous driving in years of policing."

The car was followed by a police helicopter and crashed into parked vehicles in The Meadows area.

Dellamonica was then chased on foot by police and arrested.

Luckily his girlfriend and the baby were uninjured.

He pleaded guilty at Nottingham crown court to charges of dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and having no insurance.
