Prison staff need to pay greater attention to their responsibility for prisoners' property to avoid complaints being made, the Ombudsman added. Around a fifth of eligible complaints received by the Ombudsman in 2012/13 were about property. And more than half (57%) of the property-related complaints received in the same period were upheld in favour of the inmate. See PA story PRISONS Complaints.
