Wife and pet dogs drown after car rolls into river

See SWNS story SWFERRY: A pensioner who died after her car rolled into a river when her husband got out to take photographs was named as Ann Pewter. Tragic Ann, 74, was waiting to board the King Harry Ferry on the River Fal near Trelissick, Cornwall. It is thought her husband got out to take pictures and the car suddenly rolled forward and plunged into the freezing water. The red Mazda saloon sank and despite efforts of rescuers Ann, of Tavistock, Devon, died along with her two pet dogs.

A court has heard how a pensioner looked on in horror last March when his Mazda people carrier rolled down a slipway into the River Fal, drowning his beloved wife and their pet dogs.
