A British man from Kent got so drunk at his friend's funeral that he took a taxi to Gatwick Airport and ended up in Amsterdam.
James O'Kane, 22, was carrying his passport at the funeral but does not remember booking himself a taxi at 4am and buying a three-day £232 return ticket to Holland, The Sun reports.
The supermarket worker, who flew with BA, said: "I have no idea what I was thinking. I had never even been abroad on my own before.
"It was a sad day and I remember drinking a lot, but the next thing I knew a stewardess woke me up."
James, from Orpington, took a series of selfies while in the Dutch city and was only carrying £50 cash.
The Bromley Times reports that things got worse when his mum refused to pay for an earlier flight for him to return home.
"For the next three days I wandered around in my three-piece suit and had to buy some flip-flops because shoes were hurting," he said.
James says he hasn't stopped drinking since his return to the UK but added: "I am not sure if I would do that again."
