Hilton hotel bans guest after he tells staff there's a 'large snake in my trousers'

A Hilton hotel guest has been banned after telling staff he had "a large snake in my trousers."

Jason Payne, a 35-year-old software engineer, wrote the the comment in the pets section of an online booking form, reports the Daily Telegraph.

While booking for his night's stay on 8 February 2014, in response to a section asking if he had pets, he joked the only animal he has is a "large snake in my trousers" adding "hope that's okay".

He said staff at the Hilton Basingstoke, Hampshire, actually laughed at it when he booked in.

However, three days later he received an email from Cathrin Wurst, front office manager of the branch, saying staff "would not be able to accept any future bookings from him".

According to the Metro, Mr Payne said the hotel took "a puckish remark far too seriously".

He added: "It was a joke and I had no idea the staff would read it. I have heard far worse said on CBBC and on TV shows like Loose Women and Jeremy Kyle.

"The only person who was ever going to see it was an adult, and they are exposed to far worse than 'There's a snake in my trousers'."

Mr Payne share the email he received on Twitter, and some of it read: "As you will understand, the booking comment made on your booking: 'There's a large trouser snake in my trousers. Hope that's OK' is neither appropriate when making a hotel booking, nor is it funny.

"At reception, the team members are required to confirm any requests or comments the guests have made in their bookings, which means any comment you make will most definitely get read (out), and I cannot interpret putting a comment like this onto a booking in any other way than trying to embarrass the person who will read it.

"As a hotel, like any other employer, we do not accept this kind of harassment of our team members and I would therefore like to let you know that we will not be able to accept any future bookings from yourself. "

Mr Payne is welcome to book in at other Hilton hotels worldwide, but he called Ms Wurst a "fuddy duddy" and took to Twitter to say it was not likely he would.
