A man has been killed after being crushed by a snow removal truck near Toronto's Pearson Airport.

Terry Jay, 23, became pinned underneath the truck when he was using it to move a dumpster full of snow.

Mr Jay, who was married with a three-year-old daughter and two step-children, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

He died after becoming pinned under the truck's cargo box after it slid off, reports cbc.ca.

According to ctvnews.ca, Mr Jay ran a tree removal service with his wife Sara, and was "known for always being able to help others. He put others' needs ahead of himself."
