An eleven-strong lottery syndicate who all support Aston Villa have donned their team's colours to celebrate a £1 million EuroMillions win.

The syndicate members from Sutton Coldfield met up at Villa Park to pose for pictures in replica kit four days after each netting £90,909.09p.
Engineer Simon Ashcroft, who started the syndicate last September, told reporters its members felt "ridiculously lucky" to have landed the big win in the Millionaire Raffle draw.

The 22-year-old learnt of the windfall from a National Lottery alert after checking his phone as he travelled home from work on Friday.

Mr Ashcroft said: "At first I thought nothing of it as we have often won a couple of pounds but, when I went into the account and realised it was £1 million it was just unbelievable."

Admitting that some other syndicate members were still in shock, he added: "I'm a bit of a joker and no-one really believed me to begin with."

The synidcate, all aged in their 20s, also includes Matt Hammonds, his brother Dan Hammonds, Richard Cox, Joe Collins, Brad Taylor, Oli Hughes, Adam Holt, Adam Finn, Kris Corfield and Chris Hedderley.
