Customer leaves $15,000 tip for Illinois waitresses
Amy Sabani, 25, Amber Kariolich, 28 and Sarah Seckinger, 23, couldn't believe their luck when a customer, who wishes to remain anonymous, handed each of them a very generous donation. One of the servers wasn't even waiting on the kind customer but the diner overheard the young waitresses discussing school, loans, braces and all their financial burdens and took it upon herself to help the girls out.
The girls were shocked by the stranger's kindness and tried to return the money but the customer refused, saying "I want you girls to take these to help with school and everything else in life. Yes, you can take it. You put that in your pocket. God sent me here to help you," reports the Rockford Register Star.
The Boone County Family Restaurant in Caledonia, Ill. has never seen such a large tip left for one of its waitresses.
The girls are very grateful and touched by the kind gesture.
Seckinger and Kariolch both plan on using their windfalls to return to school and get ahead on bills. Sabani hopes the money will give her the opportunity to spend more time with her son, reports The New York Daily News.
This generous donation comes days after a struggling waitress in Knoxville, Tennesse was left a $1,000 tip.
