Mystery over Spanish cat found 2,000 miles from Canaries in Scotland
A cat from the Canary Islands left sunny Spain and travelled 2,000 miles to Aberdeenshire.
One-year-old Juanita ended up in the remote village of Muchalls.
Juanita, from Fuerteventura, was traced by her identity chip.
According to BBC Scotland, efforts have been made to contact her owner but so far there has been no success.
Rosy Long, who found the cat, told the BBC: "I opened the garage and we found this small cat.
"We think she had just got shut in, she must have been desperate to get out of the cold."
A spokesman for Cats Protection told STV: "She is clearly extremely friendly so we suspect there must be an owner who is missing her greatly. We're currently doing our best to help find her owner, and are keeping our fingers crossed for a happy reunion as soon as possible."
