Mothercare in ELC sell-off talks

Troubled retailer Mothercare is holding talks over the potential sale of its toy shop business Early Learning Centre, it was reported.

ELC, which trades from a slimmed down estate of 40 stores, was acquired by Mothercare for £85 million in June 2007 but the partnership has struggled amid trading difficulties within the wider group.
