What are the names of the world's oceans? If you've been on a cruise holiday, you may have sailed across an ocean but can you name all five?
A new survey has revealed that 71 per cent of Britons are unable to name our oceans and just 14 per cent can correctly list more than ten seas around the world.
When asked by online cruise agency bonvoyage.co.uk how many oceans are in the world, 54 per cent of the 1,837 Britons surveyed correctly answered five, while 12 per cent believed there to be seven, perhaps confusing oceans with the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Just 29 per cent could accurately recall all individual names and the most well-known ocean emerged as the Atlantic (89 per cent), while just 28 per cent of Brits remembered to list the Antarctic Ocean.
And how well do you know the world's seas? When bonvoyage.co.uk asked people about their knowledge of seas, just 14 per cent were able to name 11 or more, with the North Sea, Caribbean Sea, Baltic Sea, Red Sea and Mediterranean Sea the most commonly known.
