Melanie Griffith shows off in a bikini in Hawaii

Melanie Griffith is in Hawaii shooting scenes for her latest TV project - and was recently snapped looking fabulous while enjoying an afternoon off at the beach this week.

The 56-year-old actress donned a tropical-print two-piece for her time at the beach, and protected her face with a black cap and designer sunnies.

She sat on a shielded sun bed reading her iPad, and took breaks to cool off in the beautiful ocean of Oahu.

Melanie, who is married to Antonio Banderas, has been filming scenes for the hit show Hawaii Five-O since December.

She's been lucky enough to shoot on location in Oahu, which is the third largest of the Hawaiian Islands.

The state capital, Honolulu, is on Oahu's southeast coast, while it is also home to one of the world's most famous beaches, Waikiki.

Due to its beauty and easy access from Hollywood, Oahu's beaches have served as a backdrop for many movies, including Forgetting Sarah Marshall and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
