Bentley announces limited edition Mulsanne for Europe

Bentley has unveiled a new limited edition version of the luxurious Mulsanne that pays tribute to famous "Bentley Boy" Sir Henry "Tiger Tim" Burkin, a successful driver in Bentley's endurance racing team of the 1920's and 30's.
Production of the Bentley Mulsanne Burkin will be limited to just 22 units and each will be finished with one of a select number of exterior paints that include: Ghost White, Diamond with a contrast of Fountain Blue and Dark Sapphire.

Each car will ride on enormous 21-inch alloy wheels and can be singled-out from other Mulsannes via numbered doorsill plaques and a 'tridimensional' flying-B logo that is stitched into headrests and appears dotted throughout the cabin.

To sweeten the deal further, Bentley is offering a matching tailored luggage set that will be individually numbered and handcrafted by Bentley's in-house team of coach builders.

Inside, the luxury saloon is also lavished with a state-of-the-art entertainments package that includes: dual eight-inch LCD screens in the rear of the front headrests, Wi-Fi hotspot, DVD player and a Naim sound system as well as iPads that are built into the solid wood picnic tables.

The Mulsanne is no slouch thanks to its 6.75-litre twin-turbo V8 that's capable of producing 505bhp and 1020Nm torque.

The result is a 0-60mph sprint time of 5.1 seconds and a top speed of 184mph, not bad considering the car weighs 2686kg.

A price is yet to be announced for the limited edition Mulsanne but expect to pay a premium over the current £225,000 asking price.

Succesful racer "Tiger Tim" Burkin died at just 35-years-old, with many believing the cause was a burn he received during the 1933 Tripoli Grand Prix that had turned septic.
